COOKIES, SDKs, AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES DISCLOSURE
Effective Date: September 15, 2026
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
Version: 1.1 (supersedes v1.0 dated 2026-05-18)
This Disclosure supplements, and forms part of, the emotilink Privacy Policy available at www.emotilink.com. It explains the cookies, software development kits (“SDKs”), pixels, tags, and other tracking technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) that emotilink, LLC (“emotilink,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses in connection with our mobile application (the “App”) and our website at www.emotilink.com (the “Website,” and together with the App, the “Services”).
If you have questions about this Disclosure, contact us at info@emotilink.com.
1. What Are Tracking Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — for example, your login state, language preference, or items in a shopping cart.
Software Development Kits (“SDKs”) are pieces of third-party code embedded in a mobile application that enable specific functionality — for example, real-time video communication, payment processing, crash reporting, or analytics.
Pixels, tags, and beacons are small pieces of code embedded in web pages or emails that, when loaded by a user’s browser or email client, send information back to a server. They are typically used for analytics, attribution, or advertising.
Mobile advertising identifiers (Apple’s IDFA, Google’s AAID) are unique identifiers assigned to a device that can be used to track user activity across apps for advertising purposes.
This Disclosure covers all of these.
2. emotilink’s Approach to Tracking
We use only the Tracking Technologies necessary to deliver and secure the Services and to understand basic Service performance. We do not use Tracking Technologies for behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share information collected through Tracking Technologies with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics aggregators.
We do not use the following on the App or Website:
- Advertising cookies or pixels (e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion pixels, TikTok pixel);
- Cross-site or cross-app tracking for behavioral advertising;
- Data broker SDKs;
- Marketing attribution SDKs that share user-level data with third parties (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust);
- Session replay tools (e.g., FullStory, LogRocket, Hotjar) that capture user interactions;
- Heat-mapping tools.
Our use of Tracking Technologies is intentionally limited because of the sensitive nature of mental health services. The Federal Trade Commission has brought enforcement actions against telehealth and mental health platforms for undisclosed sharing of health information through advertising trackers (see, e.g., In re BetterHelp, Inc.; In re GoodRx Holdings, Inc.; In re Cerebral, Inc.; In re Monument, Inc.). We have designed our platform to avoid this exposure.
